This one wasn't actually inspired by a photograph. The theme was location, so I decided to find an atmospheric spot to sit and write in. Across from my house is an abandoned lot where all sorts of farm equipment and broken building supplies are dumped. I love exploring there, I always discover something new each time I go there.

Fragment of a Story: 3 of 3
Here is the final story fragment that I wrote for a school project.

Fragment of a Story: 2 of 3
This one's my favorite of the three story fragments that I've written for my school's project, although I'm afraid it reads more like a short story than a motion picture screenplay.
Some questions to prompt your imaginations about the bigger, overall story;
What awaits these men after their brief rest?
Who've they got waiting for them back home?
Feel free to share any of your ideas in the comments below!

Fragment of a Story: 1 of 3
Only a couple more weeks left in my first year of college! I know I haven't been posting much on here lately, mainly because this second semester has been focused on Screenwriting, and there is never much to share.
By the end of this semester I hope to have a complete short film screenplay written and edited! I'm extremely excited to see the finished script. Perhaps, if it's good enough, I'll try to see if I can get someone to make it. Wouldn't that be exciting!
For now, I've finally got something to share from my work. I wrote three story fragments a while ago, and now I'm editing them up with my last official unit that focuses on rewriting. I thought I might as well share them on here, even though they are fragments and don't make much sense overall.
Trust me, they're just as much of a mystery to me as they might be to you. Use your imagination to fill in the blanks! If you like what you come up with, share it in the comments below.
I'll even add a couple questions that are floating around in my mind to help spark your curiosity!
Who is Cynthia?
Who or what is she running from?
I originally wrote these fragments as an inspiration practice, using photos as prompts. Here's the photograph that inspired this one;
(Project Update: I'm excited to announce that an e-book collection of my poems is in the works! I've got all the poems picked out and am just working on the formatting now. I'll be publishing it through the e-book publisher, Smashwords. Expect to see more updates and the finished book within a couple weeks!)

Something Worth Fighting For
In the marketplace in some third world countries, you’ll find something for sale that you probably won’t find anywhere else.
Cakes
No, not the surgery yellow cakes that you have at your
birthday parties
Who on earth would pay
for mud!? You might ask
The mothers of hungry children who want to give their kids something
– anything – to fill their empty stomachs
so they can sleep at night
That’s who

In a world where food is more abundant than ever and there’s always something within arm’s reach to munch on whenever we feel the slightest bit hungry, it’s hard to remember that there are people in the world who haven’t had a meal in days.
The fact is, it shouldn’t be this way
The problem is distribution. Some places get more than they
need… while others go without
My family is blessed with an income to be able to provide
abundantly for our needs. Our fridge is always full, the cupboards packed with
cans. We even have to have two freezers to have room for everything. Sometimes, when we forget about certain items
because there’s so much else to choose from, food spoils and we have to throw
it away.
That’s when I think about how there are 8,000 people dying
from hunger related causes Every. Single.
Day.
That’s when I sometimes feel disgusted with our overabundance – although
it is something to be thankful for. A blessing.
But it’s a blessing that we should share
In past years, my family has helped by volunteering at Feed
My Starving Children
It’s always a fun experience; we get to hang out with
friends, it only takes a couple hours of our time, and we help package enough
food to feed a lot of people
Now another opportunity has come up to help in the fight
against world hunger
My youth group is taking part in a 30 hour fast sponsored by
World Vision. We’ll be fundraising and going without food for 30 hours to know
what it feels like to really be hungry.
My goal is to raise $425. Enough to provide food for someone
for a whole year
I can’t do this on my own though, I need people who think
world hunger is enough of a problem to do something about it.
So what about you?
Wanna help save some lives?

A Tomboy Designs a Dress
This outfit that I made as a project for my Design Class is inspired by men's fashion. I like wearing less feministic clothes, and am often uncomfortable wearing dresses, so I wondered what it would look like if I took men's clothing and made them into a feministic dress. My initial idea was to make a suit into a dress, but I decided to go with a more casual dress shirt and jacket combination. The boots idea was inspired by a lady I saw on TV who always wore work boots with really big, baggy graphic T-shirts that doubled as dresses. I thought the dress/boot combination was interesting. (And yes, the buttons, collar, and shoelaces are all pink)
Below is a collection of actual clothing items that match my design the closest, so it's almost as if it's really made!

Trying My Hand at Car Design
For my college design class I had the chance to design a car! Introducing... *dramatic drum roll*
The idea for this car has actually been stowed away in my mind for a really long time. It's been slowly pieced together as I've sat in cars over the years and thought about aerodynamics as I look out the window and wonder how one could make them even more aerodynamic. This car (and a bicycle car) have been the two main designs that keep reoccurring in my thoughts. Finally, I've had an excuse to put the idea to paper!
The car has no windows. It seats only one person, who has to lay almost flat because the ceiling is so low (which is roughly modeled in the lower car of the color version of my sketches). The car is not automated however. The driver is able to view the outside road through virtual reality goggles that have live feeds from sensors placed all around the car. The effect is almost as if one is not in a car, but riding free on a motorcycle. The steering is controlled by two levers on other side of the person, while gas and break pedals are in their normal spots at the driver's feet. The slim body of the car itself tappers off into a razor, wind cutting edge along it's spine.
So, it's not perfect, and a lot of this stuff would probably not work outside of theory, but that wasn't the goal of the assignment. The goal was to come up with a design, which I have done. The coloring I added on top of the scan with a touch screen painting app I have on my new laptop, it's really cool, I think I'm going to like that app!
